Johor Sultan joins Hari Raya celebrations at MB's residence

JOHOR BARU - Thousands of people thronged Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Mohamed Khaled Nordin's official residence here to join in the Hari Raya celebrations.

A brief downpour on Wednesday morning did not deter visitors from flocking to the open house and indulging in a wide buffet spread which highlighted local favourites such as lemang and ketupat.

Guests were also overjoyed when Johor ruler Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar graced the open house and dined with Mohamed Khaled and his wife Datin Rosni Omar along with state exco members and leaders.

Sultan Ibrahim, who drove to the event himself at around 11.20am, greeted visitors and even entertained Mohamed Khaled's granddaughter Alya Akmal Saufi before leaving an hour later.

Special Officer to the Mentri Besar Datuk M. M. Samy said that Sultan's presence had made the event all the more special for the people who had came from near and far.

"The joyful and friendly atmosphere reflects the unity of Johor and the support for the leadership," he said.
