KAJANG - Barisan Nasional candidate Datin Paduka Chew Mei Fun is all for a healthy campaign.
Asked about her strategy, Chew, 50, said it would depend on the situation.
She, however, did not want to elaborate if a strategy change would be due to the Opposition's move to field PKR leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's wife Datin Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.
Chew is facing Dr Wan Azizah in a straight fight for the Kajang state seat.
"For now, I am focusing on local issues and on what I can offer the people in Kajang," she said after nominations closed yesterday.
Chew said she was surprisingly calm when she woke up yesterday morning. She had her breakfast and went to the Barisan component parties' gathering point at the The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health in Bandar Baru Bangi.
Accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, party president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai and many other Barisan leaders, Chew walked several hundred metres to the nomination centre at the MPKj Sports Centre, where she submitted her nomination form at 9.07am.
Chew said she was confident and in high spirits to strive for victory.
