PETALING JAYA - DAP must kick out its secretary-general Lim Guan Eng and his father Lim Kit Siang for agreeing with hudud, said MCA yesterday.
MCA deputy secretary-general Datuk Wee Jeck Seng urged the party and the Chinese community to remove party supremo Kit Siang and his son as "payback" for going back on their promises.
"With PAS President Datuk Seri Hadi Awang revealing that the Pakatan Supreme Council has agreed to the implementation of hudud in Kelantan, this means that both Kit Siang and Guan Eng have failed to carry out their responsibility to the non-Muslims and DAP members by supporting PAS' hudud, and for that, they should be held responsible," he said in a statement.
"Because of their thirst for power, they have readily tricked and misled DAP and the non-Muslims to support PAS," he said, claiming that DAP had "whitewashed" PAS to non-Muslims just to win votes.
The Tanjong Piai MP called on DAP leaders and members to protest against the father and son, demanding that they be sacked to rescue DAP's image.
"From the start, PAS has always sought to implement hudud and establish an Islamic state. They had never given up on this dream, yet DAP had whitewashed PAS to the Chinese and non-Muslims simply so that they can win votes.
"Now that things have come to this, do they have anything to say for themselves?," he said.
