JOHOR BARU - Legoland Malaysia, which is celebrating its first anniversary on Sept 15, has exceeded its expectations of gettting one million visitors in the past 12 months.
General manager Seigfried Boerst said the theme park in Nusajaya, surpassed its target by 70 per cent some months ago.
"We are pleased with the turnout and confident of receiving continued support from both domestic and foreign visitors," he told reporters here yesterday.
He said Legoland Malaysia, with over 40 interactive rides, shows and attractions, was constantly undergoing upgrading works with new attractions.
Aside from that, its water theme park is almost 90 per cent complete and set to open to the public on Oct 21.
"A total of 20 water slides and over 70 Lego models will be set up around the water park for visitors to enjoy," said Boerst.
To mark its first year, Legoland Malaysia is organising a grand celebration, with a giant birthday cake made from Lego bricks at its entrance.
"More than 300,000 colourful Lego bricks will be used to build the model," he said. It will eventually stand over 1.6m tall, with a width of 3m and weighing 646.2kg.
The nine-day celebration from Saturday will feature jugglers, stilt walkers, uni-cyclists and magic shows besides Lego building challenges.
