IPOH - A letter purportedly by the Kuala Kangsar police that has gone viral, warning parents to be mindful of their children, is fake, says the Perak police chief.

Comm Datuk Razarudin Husain (pic) said the letter, which was being spread on social media, was fake and an investigation would be launched on the matter.

The letter, which was purportedly issued to all parents from the district's Fire and Rescue Department, police and Civil Defence Force, said that there has been a kidnapping incident and warned parents against letting their children go out at night.

It also warned that a "lembaga hitam dan putih" (black and white entity) is prowling about in town.
