PETALING JAYA - A couple and their 13-year-old daughter have been remanded for five days after being arrested for abusing two children who have been living with them.

Serdang OCPD Asst Comm Ismadi Borhan said the suspects were remanded until Thursday while the two victims - an 8-year-old boy and a 7-year-old girl - were being treated at Serdang Hospital.

"We are still investigating the matter," he said when contacted yesterday.

It was earlier reported that the police had rescued the two victims, finding them malnourished and with marks of abuse all over their bodies.

Police rushed over to the couple's house in Jalan PBP 1/2, Pusat Bandar Puchong, at around 1pm on Saturday following a tip-off.

"We arrested a 33-year-old man and his 30-year-old wife along with their daughter, who are all relatives of the victims.

"The victims have been staying with the family after their own parents divorced about seven years ago," said ACP Ismadi.

Police also seized a baton, a rubber hose and a silver fork, which were believed to have been used to abuse the children.
