PUTRAJAYA - Deputy Minister In the Prime Minister's Department Mohamed Hanipa Maidin suffered from a fainting spell while attending the department's monthly gathering.
This caused him to fall from the temporary stage while Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad was addressing the crowd.
Dr Mahathir stopped his speech for several minutes while Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail came down from stage to check on Hanipa.
Those present were shocked and staff on duty immediately attended to him.
A doctor on standby provided Hanipa with medical attention before he was taken by ambulance for further medical treatment.
According to The Sun Daily, Hanipa, 48, had previously suffered a stroke and underwent a surgery for brain haemorrhage in 2016.
