Malaysian man arrested for threatening to kill mother for not giving him money

IPOH - Police have arrested a man who threatened to kill his mother at their home in Kampung Ara Payong near here for refusing to give him money.

Batu Gajah OCPD ACP Ahmad Adnan Basri said in the 1.15pm incident on Tuesday (June 11), the 33-year-old man asked his 71-year-old mother for money but she refused.

"The suspect does not have a fixed job and is involved in drug-related activities. This is the second time the suspect had threatened his mother, the first was before the start of the fasting month, but no police report was lodged then," he said.

ACP Ahmad Adnan said the suspect, who is the youngest of five siblings, stayed with his mother in the house.

He said this time she ran out of the house and asked for help from her neighbours.

She later came to lodge a report, and the suspect was arrested at the house at about 4pm.

He said the suspect tested positive for drugs and added that he also has a criminal record.

The case is being investigated under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation.
