Malaysian police is searching for a woman who was caught abusing a young child on video.

The video, which went viral on social messaging platform Whatsapp, shows a lady slapping and hitting a baby girl while changing her diaper.

The graphic video was also reposted on the Royal Malaysia Police's Facebook page on June 11, where it has gathered 13,000 views and 4,000 comments as of today (June 12).

In the video, the woman can be seen repeatedly slapping and twisting the legs of the crying child. At one point in the video, the lady can be seen hanging the girl while trying to take off her shirt.

The video was recorded by someone else also in the room, who did not interfere when the abuse took place.

In a statement to local media, Royal Malaysia Police corporate communications head Datuk Asmawati Ahmad shared that no police report has been made so far on the matter.

She also urged anyone who has information on the video to come forward and help with investigations.
