IPOH - A 13-year-old boy was nearly kidnapped while he was walking home from school in Tanjung Tualang, near Batu Gajah.

Batu Gajah OCPD ACP Ahmad Adnan Basri said during the 1.30pm incident, the boy was near the Taman Tualang junction when suddenly a silver-coloured Proton Waja stopped near him.

He said one of the suspects in the backseat of the car opened the door and tried to pull the boy in.

"The boy pulled away from the suspect and ran back to his house.

"Later, the boy came with his 50-year-old father to the station to lodge a report.

"The boy did not sustain any injuries, and we believe there are three suspects involved," he added.

ACP Ahmad Adnan said the location of the incident from the school was about 600m.

He said there were no houses or business premises nearby where the incident happened, and neither were there any CCTVs.

The case, ACP Ahmad said, was being investigated under Section 363/511 of the Penal Code.
