Malaysian teacher charged with sexual crimes involving five boys
KUCHING - Bernama reported that a primary school teacher in Serian claimed trial to 14 charges of sexual offences involving five pupils.
The accused Lai Chee Hiang, 37, pleaded not guilty when he was brought to the Sessions Court to face the charges.
Lai was accused of three counts of carnal intercourse against the order of nature with a boy, aged 11, inside the Students Affairs' office of the school between May and August.
The charges, under Section 377B of the Penal Code, carries a jail term of up to 20 years and whipping, on conviction.
On another charge, Lai allegedly attempted to outrage the modesty of another boy, aged 10, in a storeroom of the school in August.
Other charges include allegedly molesting an 11-year-old boy and two similar counts involving another 10-year-old boy, whom the accused also allegedly incited to commit an act of gross indecency.
All these offences were said to have taken place inside a classroom in August.
The last two charges involved a 12-year-old boy, whom he allegedly molested and incited to commit an act of gross indecency inside a classroom in August.
Sessions judge Shafiza Abdul Razak Tready denied bail and fixed Oct 25 for mention.
In a separate case, a man calmly walked into the Bercham police station near Ipoh and told policemen on duty that he had just killed a cleaner at his parents' home.
The man, 34, who is believed to be mentally unsound, had arrived on a motorcycle at the police station at about 3.30pm yesterday.
Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Sum Chang Keong said that based on what the man said, policemen went to his parents' house in Taman Pusat Bercham and found a body sprawled in a pool of blood in the hallway between the kitchen and living room.
"The victim, an Indonesian in her 40s, had injuries on her face and head. Three of her fingers were severed," he said.
He said police also found a parang, believed to be the murder weapon, in the house.
