PETALING JAYA - Mamak Rhapsody, a local parody of the song Bohemian Rhapsody by British rock band Queen, has gone viral.

The five-minute song is about mamak eateries.

"Mamak, yang ku tercinta (my favourite), harga semua murah (cheap prices), makanan juga sedap (the food is also tasty), Mamak, life has just begun," goes the chorus of the song, which has been viewed over 13,000 times on YouTube since it was uploaded on Saturday.

One YouTube user hailed the song as the best parody of the year, while another called it "pure genius".

The song was inspired by a viral Twitter post titled "Briyani Rhapsody" featuring a Freddie Mercury look-alike in a local restaurant.

Mercury was Queen's eccentric frontman and a film about him, Bohemian Rhapsody, is now playing in cinemas worldwide.
