NIBONG TEBAL - A businessman who has been trying to locate his wife's Perodua Kenari for four months finally found it - as well as a magazine of bullets below the driver's seat.
The car was found on Thursday along Jalan Kendi in the Taman Merak Business Centre in Simpang Ampat near here where a restaurant owner was shot a day earlier.
Police found seven live 9mm bullets in the magazine, an axe, a green jacket similar to that worn by army personnel and a file belonging to a car repossessor.
The 29-year-old businessman had been looking for the car since May following reminders from a bank over arrears on the car's monthly instalments, although they had already sold the vehicle to a car dealer in Ipoh.
The car repossessor, whose name was found on the file, is a 34-year-old man from Seri Kembangan in Selangor.
He has a criminal record for cases involving firearms, fighting, drug possession and attempted murder.
South Seberang Prai OCPD Supt Shafien Mamat said police were investigating the case under Section 8 of the Firearms Act 1971.
