Man onboard AirAsiaX flight dies

PUTRAJAYA - The police have confirmed that the person who died onboard AirAsiaX Flight D7 171 last night was an Indonesian man.

The deceased, 64, was believed to have been onboard the flight from Jeddah and was returning to Jakarta, Indonesia. Prior to his flight to Indonesia, he had to transit at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (klia2).

The case was classified by the Sepang district police chief Superintendent Mohd Yusof Awang as sudden death.

It was learnt that the body had been sent to forensic unit at the Serdang Hospital and is awaiting post-mortem. The deceased's family in Indonesia had also been notified.
