ISKANDAR PUTERI - A man who routinely went to a construction site to feed stray dogs slipped and drowned in a lake at Taman Nusa Idaman here.
Iskandar Puteri OCPD Supt Noor Hashim Mohamad said heavy vehicle driver Ang Yan Yan, 22, drowned in the man-made lake at around 6pm on Monday.
He said Ang's family reported him as missing when he did not return home by 11pm the same day.
Ang's friend later informed the sister that her brother's car was parked near the Educity roundabout heading towards Taman Nusa Idaman.
"She went to the scene and noticed that the car engine was still running.
"The victim's personal belongings and mobile phone were inside the vehicle," Supt Noor Hashim added.
He said the sister searched the area, but could not find him until she found a shoe near the lake.
"Another shoe was floating in the lake," he added.
He said initial investigations revealed that the victim would visit the area on a daily basis to feed the dogs and pray at a nearby temple.
Ang usually washed his hands and feet after playing with the dogs before going home.
"We believe that he slipped and fell into the 3.6m deep lake where he was found dead," he said.
