MH370 steward's daughter moves Liverpool fans with tweets

It was a heartfelt message which resonated the world over.

Maira Elizabeth Nari, daughter of Mr Andrew Nari - chief steward of the missing Malaysian Airlines flight, tweeted about her father during Sunday's Manchester United-Liverpool match.

Maira, whose Twitter handle is @Gorgxous_, said: "Daddy, Liverpool is winning the game. Come home, so you can watch the game! You never miss watching the game. It's your very first time. :')"

Liverpool won 3-0.

Immediately, Liverpool fans rallied around her, the club's official website reported on Wednesday.

The teen's tweet was met with a flurry of touching replies as friends and strangers alike took the time to offer her hope and encouragement, liberal news portal Malaysian Insider reported.

Her tweet had 4,854 retweets as of press time, and was also shared by Liverpool FC's official Twitter and Facebook accounts.

LFC REPLIES

The football club posted the following tweet directly to Maira:

@LFC: "@Gorgxous_ Just to let you know that we are thinking of your father & all those still missing from flight #MH370 Be strong. YNWA"

She replied later on Wednesday: "If dad sees this, he'll be so happy! He'll be smiling, he'll be laughing. I can imagine how happy he'll be. Dad's a big fan of LFC!"

Liverpool also posted her message on Facebook, where it has been shared more than 7,000 times, AFP reported.

Liverpool fan Renny Whitehead said in a message: "Oh this is just so heartbreaking. As a Liverpool fan and flight attendant it really helps me understand even more, just how much the families must be hurting. My thoughts are with all those affected. You'll Never Walk Alone."

Meanwhile, The Star reported that Maira did not be collect her SPM results Thursday. SPM is equivalent to the O levels.

A family member told the Malaysian newspaper: "We have already called the school and requested them to hold on to the transcript as we are trying to stay as private as possible.

"We truly appreciate if everyone could give us the privacy we deserve at this point of time."

Maira had tweeted earlier that she hopes her father will return in time for the results.
