More than 6 hours to save man's finger from too-tight rings

The Fire and Rescue Department and several doctors took more than six hours to save the finger of a man when the two rings on it became too tight, Harian Metro reported.

In the incident at about 9pm on Sunday, the rings which the man had worn for 20 years on his right ring finger, started causing him severe pain.

The digit also started turning bluish from lack of blood circulation.

His sister sent him to the Kajang Hospital.

A team from the Semenyih fire and rescue station responded to a call from the hospital.

The firemen found the rings were so tight that they were cutting into the skin and they had to use a special gadget to cut the rings.
