THE organisers who created the biggest dish of fried rice have been criticised for their handling of the food after the event, China Press reported. The dish, weighing 4,192kg, made it into the Guinness Book of World Records.

According to eyewitnesses, some workers were seen stepping on the famed Yangzhou fried rice while using shovels to remove it into a dump truck at the Yangzhou Songjia City Sports & Leisure Park after the event on Friday.

They recorded the incident and posted it online. Netizens who saw the clips slammed the organisers for wasting the food. In response, the organisers clarified that they had to consider safety and health issues.

They added that the food was not thrown away but used to feed pigs.
