PETALING JAYA - An alleged pervert has been caught by the police after making inappropriate calls to women while posing as a doctor.
The 39-year-old man was picked up by the authorities at a hotel in Klang on Tuesday night after a probe was carried out on the 21 reports lodged against the suspect.
Selangor CID chief Senior Asst Comm Fadzil Ahmat said the victims were found to have had medical examinations conducted.
"All victims had been contacted by phone, with the suspect posing as a doctor relaying to them their 'results', telling them that they showed signs of breast cancer, etc," he said when contacted yesterday.
Then, over the phone, the suspect would instruct the unsuspecting victims to perform various acts, ranging from making lewd noises to touching their private parts.
The police were investigating how the suspect obtained the victims' personal information, said SAC Fadzil.
