Recent murders of Malaysia govt officials

April 26, 2013: Customs Department deputy director-general II Datuk Shaharuddin Ibrahim was fatally shot in his car in Putrajaya on the way to work.

Shaharuddin was seated on the front passenger seat of a his official vehicle when he stopped at a traffic light junction at Lebuh Wawasan at 8.20am.

A motorcyclist rode up, and the pillion rider shot him thrice.

Shaharuddin, who had served the department for over 30 years and earned the reputation of 'Mr Clean', was a year away from retirement when he was murdered.

While a suspect was arrested in relation to the assassination, no one has been charged with his murder.

Nov 10, 2013: Pahang Islamic Religious Department enforcement chief Ahmad Raffli Abdul Malek was shot dead in front of his house in Bandar Indera Mahkota, Pahang.

Sect leader Harun Mat Saat @ Tuhan Harun, whose religious group was being investigated by the Religious Department, was among the three charged with criminal conspiracy leading to Ahmad Raffli's death.
