PETALING JAYA - Dengue cases are on the rise and so are sales of mosquito repellents and anti-mosquito products.

Simon Ang, 39, a sales assistant for a pharmacy in Petaling Jaya said that there were more requests from their customers for mosquito repellents

"Most people prefer to go for the branded products such as Mosi-guard," he said, adding that they were running out of mosquito patches.

A local pharmacist estimated that they had about 60 per cent more customers inquiring about mosquito repellents.

Michael Ang, who is in charge of the ATKC e-warehouse website, said there had been a steady increase of demand for mosquito fogging liquid, anti-mosquito paint, PVC and aluminium netting.

"Government authorities, town councils and developers have also been buying insect fogging liquid for fogging," he said.
