Search on for man dragged into Sabah river by crocodile

KOTA KINABALU - Search and rescue workers here are on the hunt for a crocodile and possibly the body of a man who was last seen snatched by the reptile.

Sabah Fire and Rescue Department public relation officer Mohd Affendy Ramin said the man was fishing by a river, some 320km from here, with two friends when a crocodile suddenly came up and dragged him into the water, at about 4.30pm Sunday.

"The two friends immediately alerted us and a search and rescue team from Kota Kinabatangan was sent to the interior Kg Sangau river," he said.

More details of the incident and updates of search and rescue efforts were expected to be released Monday evening.
