BUKIT MERTAJAM: Two men who are twins in their 20s cheated death when the Myvi car they were in was sandwiched between a factory bus and another car at the north-bound Juru toll plaza here.

It is believed that the driver of the bus lost control of the vehicle and rammed into the rear of the Myvi at about 6pm yesterday.

The impact caused the car to lunge forward and hit the rear of a Volkswagen Polo.

The Myvi was totally wrecked and the two men were pinned inside the car.

Both the bus and Volkswagen Polo drivers, however, escaped unscathed.

A spokesman for the Fire And Rescue Department said 16 firemen were despatched to the scene.

"The driver and passenger were trapped in the car and we had to use special tools to extract them from the wreckage. It took us about two hours.

"Both suffered injuries and were rushed to the Seberang Jaya Hospital in an ambulance," he said.
