KUALA LUMPUR - Two suspects believed to be involved in the abduction of a five-year-old boy in Sungai Chua, Kajang earlier Friday have been arrested.
Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Abdul Samah Mat said the two men were detained during raids in Sungai Chua at about 10.25pm Friday.
He did not comment on whether the two suspects were men caught on closed circuit television (CCTV) footage snatching the boy from his mother outside his kindergarten.
"We have two suspects. We are investigating this to the best we can, that is all I can say for now," he said.
Sources said the two men tested positive for drugs.
The boy was reunited with his family at 5.38pm after he had gone missing for eight hours.
A taxi driver, who only wanted to be known as Nizam, drove up to the family's home in Taman Cahaya here, with the child in the back seat and called out to the parents in the house.
"I just found him walking on the road and I recognised him from the WhatsApp messages being circulated," said Nizam.
