Wind conditions ease up in three east coast states in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: Strong winds and rough sea off the coasts of Kelantan, Terengganu and Pahang is expected to ease by today. The Meteorological Department said the strong winds and rough sea categorised as third category, which lasted until yesterday, would be downgraded.

Its weather forecast centre director, Muhammad Helmi Abdullah, said the strength of the wind would decrease as they moved into second category in the weekend for all the coastline in Malaysia. "There will be strong winds and rough sea conditions but the intensity will reduce.

"For Sabah and Sarawak, the coastline facing the South China Sea for Sarawak, Labuan and Sabah (Interior, West Coast and Kudat) are at category two.

"But the intensity of the wind is expected to reduce as well in the weekend and we won't be carrying on with the alert."
