PETALING JAYA - A thirty-one-year-old woman, believed to have set herself on fire, has died from her injuries a day after the incident.
South Klang OCPD Asst Comm Kamarul Zaman Mamat said the woman was found badly burnt at a temple in Lebuh Setaka, Taman Chi Liung, Klang at around 5pm Saturday.
"There were traces of kerosene and burning in the temple compound.
"We believe that she set herself on fire and are investigating possible motives behind the self-immolation.
"Even her family members have no knowledge of what could have led to the incident," he added.
According to ACP Kamarul Zaman, it was too early to draw conclusions on the case as police are still at the initial phase of investigations.
"Her body was rushed to Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah with critical injuries.
"She died at about 10.25am Sunday," he said.
ACP Kamarul Zaman added that the case has been classified as sudden death.
