Man shocked by $11.50 ayam penyet bought at Ayer Rajah food court

SINGAPORE - A reader of citizen journalism website Stomp has written in about what he called an "expensive" packet of ayam penyet.

The Stomp reader, who wanted to be known only as Bala, said his parents were charged $11.50 for the packet at a food court stall in April.

Based on the image sent by Bala, the dish consisted of rice, a piece of chicken, a piece of vegetable and soup.

He told Stomp: "The person at the stall claims that the chicken piece is big and that there was soup. I think it was expensive and my parents wasted their money."
