Manipur to have India’s first national sports university

THE Manipur government has given 337 acres of land to the central government to set up India's first national sports university in the north-eastern state. The university will be set up at Yaithibi Khunou in the Thoubal district. Said Development of North Eastern Region's union minister Jitendra Singh: "This sports university would not only be unique in India, but is also a tribute to the consistent and glorious contribution made by Manipuri youth in Olympics and other international arena."
