Misuse of bridge ramps common

I AGREE with Mr Raymund Koh Joo Guan about the misuse of the overhead bridge he mentioned in his letter ("Overhead bridges with ramps being misused"; Wednesday).

My husband and I are in our late 60s and use the ramps on this bridge frequently to travel between Jalan Rajah and Toa Payoh.

At first, we were happy when the ramps were installed because my husband had undergone knee replacements in both legs and I have a slipped disc, which made climbing quite challenging.

Like Mr Koh, we have encountered cyclists and motorcyclists speeding along these ramps. We have been almost hit several times. One rider even cursed us, and another wanted to fight us, when both almost knocked us down. Parents with small children also ride as a family along the ramps.

When are the authorities going to take action before serious accidents happen?
