More necessary measures will be taken to prevent maggot-infested bananas: NTUC

NTUC FairPrice has stated that they will work closely with their supplier to ensure that no more shoppers will get maggot-infested bananas again.

This is in response to an article 'Shopper horrified by maggot-infested banana at supermarket in Terminal 3' dated June 23, where Stomp contributor Hamann saw that the bananas sold by the supermarket had contained maggots.

The NTUC FairPrice spokesperson replied:

"We thank Stomp contributor Hamann for highlighting this matter to us, and are concerned to hear about the unpleasant experience.

"FairPrice takes food safety and quality matters very seriously and have alerted both our store and the supplier about this.

"We will work closely with our supplier to investigate the matter and take the necessary measures to prevent such an incident from happening.

"We would also like to seek the assistance of Stomp contributor Hamann in our investigation and appreciate it if he could contact us directly at our customer relations hotline 6552 2722 or at general.feedback@fairprice.com.sg.

"As we seek to improve customer experience, customers may also reach us through this hotline or email address to share their feedback on our products and services."
