Muhammad Ali's heart 'would not stop beating for 30 mins' as organs failed

Boxing legend Muhammad Ali was an astonishing fighter to the end, his daughter Hana Ali has revealed in a tweet about how his heart continued beating for 30 minutes as his other organs failed.

The three-time heavyweight champion died at age 74 on Friday (June 3) of septic shock, after suffering from Parkinson's disease for 32 years.

After his death, Hana wrote about his last moments in a tweet. "All of his organs failed but his HEART wouldn't stop beating. For 30 minutes ... his heart just kept beating," she wrote.

"No one had ever seen anything like it. A true testament to the strength of his Spirit and Will!" she added.

Hana also revealed that Muhammad Ali's family was with him when he died, hugging, kissing, holding his hands and chanting an Islamic prayer as his organs failed.

"We all tried to stay strong and whispered in his ear, 'You can go now. We will be okay. We love you. Thank you. You can go back to God now'," she wrote.

His death led to an outpouring of grief over the Internet, as fans all over the world remembered him for his incredible talent and outspoken views.
