My point: Sundram deserves award

SINGAPORE - LionsXII coach V. Sundramoorthy should be honoured for bringing Singapore football to greater heights.

His boys have won the Malaysian Super League - becoming the first Singapore team to do so since 1994.

Their recent victory over Indonesia should also earn them a ticket to the SEA Games in Myanmar.

Widely touted as one of the country's most skilful and talented footballers, Sundram has done much to earn the country's recognition.

His contributions make him a worthwhile role model.

The Football Association of Singapore should take the lead in proposing that he be considered for a National Day award.
