New Hong Kong desserts joint Hee Kee opens in Jurong Point

SINGAPORE - Hong Kong dessert fans living in the West have one more option to choose from. Jurong Point's Hee Kee Desserts boasts a menu of 80 dishes from classic tong sui to innovative spins on old favourites.

The brains behind the store are the owners of bubble tea franchise Sharetea.

Some of the must-tries are the durian pancake (from $3.30), which wraps durian puree and whipped cream with a coconut infused skin, and the bird's nest in coconut milk (from $9.80).

The more adventurous should try the mango cheong fun ($3.30 per piece), which has mango chunks enveloped in a handmade coconut milk jelly skin. The jelly "cheong fun" brings out the sweetness of the mango and has a chewy bite.

SoShiok has $50 worth of vouchers from Hee Kee Desserts to give away to one lucky reader. Send your name and contact number to soshiok@sph.com.sg by Aug 31, 2014 for a chance to win. Winners will be contacted by Sep 5.
