Seen & Heard

There are many reasons why women love to hate Amber Heard.

She's got the looks, she's got the bod, she's got the mane. And she's even got the man!

You can put it down to sheer jealousy. After all, this 27-year-old Texan actress gets to snuggle up to Hollywood heart-throb Johnny Depp every night and always has perfectly-coiffed hair even when she's out and about running errands.

Heard - who plays a dominatrix-like CIA agent opposite Kevin Costner in the action thriller 3 Days To Kill, which is now showing in cinemas - is on the fast track to Hollywood's A-list, whether we like it or not.

She got Johnny to put a ring on it

Heard's bisexuality made news when she came out in 2010 at the 25th anniversary event of Glaad (the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation), where she declared she was happily in love with Hawaiian photographer Tasya van Ree.

Who knew that two years later, Heard would jump ship and into the arms of her The Rum Diary co-star Johnny Depp, 50, who ditched Vanessa Paradis, his long-time partner and mother of their two teenage children, for the much younger blonde bombshell.

Depp popped the question after merely a year of dating Heard. Can anyone say homewrecker?

She hates attention - yet seeks it

Heard recently lamented to the Orange County Register at a 3 Days To Kill press event about the constant unwanted attention she receives from the tabloids.

"I've always had the misfortune of living a life that seems to be salacious to other people. It doesn't matter who I'm dating. People have always talked about me," said Heard.

Hello, woman, you are sleeping with one of the biggest stars on the planet - you are obviously asking for attention. And what do you say to the countless magazine covers you've graced each time you appear in a movie?

She's sexy and she knows it

Heard, who often makes it onto those sexiest women lists in lads mags, admitted to using her sex appeal to get men interested in her movies. She once told Metro newspaper that she was confident that wearing tiny Daisy Dukes would attract them to watch her 2011 action flick Drive Angry.

For 3 Days To Kill, she sports a figure-hugging latex dress.

She's too well put together

It's unfair that Heard never seems to suffer from a bad hair day, let alone a fashion disaster.

She has no problem channelling old Hollywood glamour or rock chic at red carpet events. During her downtime, she remains stylishly casual.

Judging from all her paparazzi shots, Heard takes pride in her looks and knows that bright red lipstick and a pair of stilettos can give a simple outfit the added oomph.

Guess her time as a model has taught her well.

She's trying to be the next Angelina Jolie

Heard is a fan of Jolie, having gushed about the Hollywood A-lister to Vanity Fair magazine.

She even copied Jolie's famous "leg-out" pose at this year's Golden Globes, at the premiere of 3 Days To Kill in Los Angeles last month, and again at the recent Texas Film Awards.

Career-wise, Heard is also going the femme fatale way, channelling fearless femininity.

But imitation isn't getting her anywhere. Her acting ability is way below par and critics have called her out for having a forgettable face.

Look, no one does it like Jolie.
