Team Singapore athletes strut the runway at VivoCity Fashion Parade

SINGAPORE - Team Singapore collaborated with TANGS and the VivoCity Fashion Parade on April 20 for the finale runway show.

Adopting the 28th SEA Games and 8th ASEAN Para Games theme, Celebrate the Extraordinary, the finale show featured 12 Team Singapore athletes representing various sporting categories such as basketball, parasailing, rowing, hurdling, wushu and track and field.

The athletes first entered the stage dressed in sports attire and walked the second set styled by PlayLab by TANGS to showcase the latest looks for Spring/Summer.

For Para-sailor Jovin Tan, who represented the Republic three times in the Paralympics and had some experience with modelling in the past, this was his first experience as a runway model on the catwalk.

"I believe that this would be great exposure for disabled athletes like me to show the public that disability does not determine how one should lead his life and that everyone has the right to feel good and be treated normally." said Jovin.

The VivoCity Fashion Parade held from April 17 to 20 also featured the latest Spring/Summer collections from Bershka and Desigual on April 18, and G2000 on April 19.

The VivoCity Fashion Parade kick starts a month-long line up of fashion-related events and shopping incentives held throughout April and May including the "Summer Prizes Shine the Brightest" lucky draw for a chance to win up to $5,000 worth of CITIGEMS diamonds, exclusive shopping privileges for American Express® Card Members and roving performances with elaborately costumed characters stretching the limits of fantastical fashion creations.
