SINGAPORE - Clarke Quay has been crowned the best nightspot in Wednesday's AsiaOne People's Choice Awards (PCA) 2014.
Clarke Quay has close to 20 pubs and clubs in traditional shophouses infused with funky art-deco structures along the Singapore River. The local nightspot has become a local and tourist draw over the years with popular clubs like Fenix Room, Beer Market and Attica.
It is the first time the nightspot is receiving this honourary award. Last year's winner, Zouk, and St James Power Station were selected as runners-up.
The AsiaOne People's Choice Awards 2014 is the website's initiative to give consumers an opportunity to vote for Singapore's favourite consumer products and services.
This year, it is in its sixth edition of the awards and a total of 85 accolades were presented at the ceremony held at Singapore Press Holdings, including four new categories, Best Family-Friendly Mall, Best Attraction, Best Boutique Hotel and Best Cafe.
Over 200,000 votes were cast by members of the public over three months for more than 300 nominees.
The Best Family-Friendly Mall, Best Chinese Restaurant and Best Bank attracted the most number of votes.
