Female and Nuyou Catwalk 2014: A stylish study in monochrome

SINGAPORE - Striking monochromatic looks, and stylish attendees aplenty; that was what we experienced at the Female and Nuyou Catwalk show on April 16, 2014.

The appearance of Singapore stars Yvonne Lim and Lee Teng added glitz to the runway show, co-organised by the two Singapore women's fashion magazines.

Held at the Museum of Contemporary Art, the runway show had models striding out in 32 looks from the brand's Spring Summer 2014 line. The back-to-basics collection featured minimalist chic at its best, with sleek cuts, slip dresses and more nineties'-inspired styles.

The look of the moment, according to Max Mara, meant wearing a single hue fashionably from head-to-toe; a style that many of its guests achieved with much aplomb.

Yvonne Lim, who is also the cover star of the April 2014 issue of Nuyou magazine, stood out in her striking Max Mara vermillion suit, easily one of the best dressed guests in attendance.

"This collection is one of Max Mara's best in recent history: Luxuriously sexy and elegantly provocative," said Nuyou editor Terence Lee. "The bright monochromatic looks are visually striking - definitely some of the most memorable at Milan Fashion Week. I am very excited to present this collection here in Singapore - it's about time that local women started looking at this Italian label as being more than just a camel coat specialist."

Jeanette Ejlersen, Female's creative editor concurred: "Max Mara has always been a brand that appeals to all women, and its latest collection is a fine example. It's sexy yet friendly, modern and timeless. In short, it's the perfect label for our annual tie-up with our sister publication Nuyou."
