120,000 free Egg McMuffins given away

McDonald's Singapore's National Breakfast Day saw 120,000 people turn up to claim their free Egg McMuffins across 121 restaurants around Singapore on Monday.

The giveaway made it to the Singapore Book of Records for "Largest Number of Muffins Given Away".

McDonald's said in a statement that it brought back the event to energise participants on a Monday morning and instill the importance of breakfast.

The restaurant also partnered with Tampines North Grassroots Organisation and SBS Transit to give out additional Egg McMuffins to members of the community.

Needy families within the Tampines North Constituency received 1,000 free muffins and McDonald's surprised Bus Captains this morning with breakfast giveaways at the Ang Mo Kio, Jurong East and Tampines bus interchanges.

Miss Phyllis Cheung, Managing Director, McDonald's Restaurants (Singapore), said: "We thank our customers and partners for the success of National Breakfast Day once again.

"The breakfast excitement does not stop here and we are looking to continue sharing the joys of breakfast beyond today."

McDonald's Singapore also introduced its first ever "All Day Breakfast" where customers can continue to enjoy their favourite breakfast items beyond breakfast hours till 6pm on Monday, March 17.

McDonald's Singapore also launched its McDonald's Surprise Alarm App today, a free alarm application for iOS and Android.

With the app, users can set alarms throughout the day, and once a day, they stand to receive a surprise from McDonald's. These surprises range from McDonald's Food & Beverage Digital coupons, inspiring and fun images, and videos and music downloads to bring joy to the users.
