Low receives rugby award

Singapore Rugby Union president Low Teo Ping was awarded the Asian Rugby Football Union (ARFU) distinguished service award yesterday.

The veteran sports administrator (right), who is also the vice-president of ARFU, received the accolade from United Arab Emirates sports minister Khalid Almidfa in Dubai for his contributions to the sport's development in Asia.

Low said: "I am honoured to receive this award and it has been the effort not only of myself but the team at SingaporeRugby. I look forward to continue my participation to the further development of rugby in Asia, particularly in the ASEAN region."
