Racing: It's a full house

Punters who followed the headline bets in The New Paper on Sunday (TNPS) had many reasons to celebrate.

All four highlighted horses from the Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong races won.

TNPS tipster Larry Foley was gungho in making a newcomer, LIVELY DRAGON, his best bet in the card of 11 at Kranji.

His tip barely lasted the 1,000m dash on the Polytrack in Race 2, but a win is a win.

In the fight-to-the-death with Ninetysix Champ, the Leticia Dragon-trained, John Powell-ridden Lively Dragon just lasted by a shorthead from his never-say-die nemesis. He paid $11 for a win.

TNPS' Tan Thean Loon made Laser Storm, the $9 favourite in Race 4, his top bet for the Kranji races.

Prepared by leading trainer Alwin Tan and ridden by apprentice Tan Wei Li, Laser Storm scored by two easy lengths with the aid of the blinkers-pacifiers.

Tan's best bet for Malaysia, Triple One D'Best in Race 11 at Ipoh, won by a neck to pay a juicy $19 for a win.

For the Hong Kong races at Sha Tin, Tan chose Numero Uno as the day's best bet from the form comments and the horse did not give his backers any anxious moment.

Numero Uno, ridden by Singapore Airlines International Cup-winning jockey Zac Purton, spreadeagled his opposition by four and a quarter lengths to pay $10.

Tan's best bet for last Friday's Kranji races, Astrostar, won to pay $9.

Twoeighto, his best for Kuala Lumpur last Saturday, lost by just a nose to $116 outsider More Than Cash. Otherwise, Twoeighto would have paid $34 for a win.
