Stags go down, again

Tampines Rovers stayed rooted to the bottom of Group H after a 3-1 defeat by Nay Pyi Taw FC in their AFC Cup clash in Myanmar on Wednesday.

The Stags, who lost their opening group match to Kitchee 5-0, went behind when Italian forward Michele di Piedi struck six minutes before half-time.

The Myanmar side - who finished second in their domestic league last season - extended their lead with two goals from South Korean import Jung Yoon Sik.

Aleksandar Duric scored a consolation goal for the S.League champions in the 70th minute.

The Stags, who finished bottom of their AFC Cup group last year after notching just two points from six games, will entertain India's Pune FC next Wednesday.
