Susilo crowned champion at Pilot Pen National Age Group (Singles) Championships 2014

SINGAPORE - Ronald Susilo beat Bernard Ong 21-16 and 21-17 in the Men's Singles (Open) of the Pilot Pen National Age Group (Singles) Championships 2014 at the Singapore Badminton Hall today.

The 17-year-old Ong put up a good fight, but was eventually outclassed by 35-year-old Susilo's well-placed strokes and composure, brought about by his maturity and international competition experience.

At the Women's Singles (Open), Grace Chua Hui Zhen came out on top over Tan Ai Ninna.

For the Boys' and Girls' Under 17, Ryan Ng Zin Rei and Crystal Wong Jia Ying beat Neo Wei Ren and Anoki Harian respectively.

Winners of the Pilot Pen Age Group (Singles) Championship walked away with over S$10,000 in cash and in-kind prizes.

The Pilot Pen National Age Group (Singles) Championship 2014 is organised by Singapore Badminton Association, sponsored by Pilot Pen Singapore and supported by Singapore Sports Council.

It provides the platform for young badminton players to develop their skill and confidence, and has attracted the best youth talents in Singapore.
