Mandopop star JJ Lin gets waxed

SINGAPORE - Home-grown Mandopop star JJ Lin met his match, literally, at the unveiling of his new Madame Tussauds wax statue today.

The award-winning singer is the latest celebrity to have his wax figure launched following the successful opening of Madame Tussauds Singapore on Oct 25, 2014.

The Madame Tussauds team had collected measurements, photos, costume donations, a hand cast, hair samples, a signature and checks for eye colour matches during a four-hour meeting with Lin in April this year.

In total, about 500 precise body and facial measurements were taken to give sculptors all the necessary information to create the wax figure.

During the unveiling event, Lin had fun taking photographs and posing with his wax double, which donned clothes, shoes and accessories donated by Lin himself from his own clothing line, SMG.

Lily Lim, General Manager of Madame Tussauds Singapore said: "We are proud to feature the JJ Lin figure and have JJ Lin unveil his own figure! He is one of the region's most successful Mandopop stars and will be a shining addition to our showcase of the most-loved and popular Singaporean icons in the attraction."

Madame Tussauds features some of Singapore's most popular celebrities, as well as international and Asian A-list stars. The attraction is located at Imbiah lookout on Sentosa.
