SINGAPORE - Amgen, the world's largest bio-technology company, announced on Wednesday plans to build a manufacturing plant in Singapore.

Thousand Oaks, California-based Amgen said it plans to invest around US$200 million (S$245 million) in the project, which will focus initially on the production of antibody-based drugs.

Construction, in the Tuas Bio-medical Park area of Singapore, is expected to begin in the next few months.
