Shape Run 2013 postponed due to the haze

SINGAPORE - Shape Run 2013, originally slated for July 7 2013, will be postponed to Oct 27 (Sunday) instead. As a result of the uncertain haze conditions, the popular women-only run organised by SPH Magazines Pte Ltd (SPH Magazines) has rescheduled its race day so as to safeguard the health and well-being of its 10,000 runners.

As the premier all-women run in Singapore, Shape Run is a highly anticipated event with a loyal following. However, with PSI levels reaching unhealthy levels and reports that the haze may persist until the end of the dry season in September, SPH Magazines has decided to move the race from July to end October.

Ms Diana Lee, General Manager, Fashion & Beauty, SPH Magazines, said: "The health and welfare of our runners are our top priority.

"So after much deliberation, we have decided to postpone the race to a date where the conditions are safer and allow them to fully enjoy the race.

"We seek the understanding of our runners, sponsors and partners for this postponement and sincerely apologise for all inconveniences caused."

Shape runners will be notified about the postponement via SMS and email. They can also check the details of the new race date, and get the latest updates through Shape's Facebook http://www.facebook.com/shapesingapore and the official Shape Run 2013 website http://www.shape.com.sg/shaperun2013/.
