Klang - Three men having supper were seriously injured after they were assaulted with golf and hockey sticks and iron rods.
The injured, in their 20s, were at a restaurant near Sungai Pinang when they were set upon by 10 men yesterday in an assault linked to an arson case involving motorcycles in February.
Selangor deputy police chief Senior Asst Comm Datuk S. Thaiveegan said two suspects, aged 24 and 32, were nabbed two hours after the 2am incident.
"Police officers, who were on the lookout for the suspects, arrested the men at about 4.30am and seized a baseball bat and parang in their possession," he said.
He added that the victims were treated for injuries to their backs at the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital and the case would be investigated under Section 148 of the Penal Code for rioting and Section 324 for causing hurt.
SAC Thaiveegan also warned people against spreading rumours of racial clashes following a fight involving 20 people at the Rebana Flats in Bandar Baru Bukit Raja on Thursday, during which seven people were injured.
