NTUC: Public sector should review salaries for older, re-employed workers

The survey of more than 100 unionised companies showed that about four in five companies keep the salaries of re-employed workers intact if they are doing the same work as before. A similar survey conducted by the Ministry of Manpower, which included a larger sample of companies, yielded similar results.

SINGAPORE - Deputy secretary-general of NTUC, Mr Heng Chee How, said that he has shared the findings of NTUC and Manpower ministry surveys with the public sector, which uses a formula to implement tiered cuts in pay when a worker is re-employed.
