SINGAPORE - Local start-up Burpple has re-positioned itself as a food search engine.
Its Social Food Guide aggregates all the food and restaurant information found online to help foodies discover new restaurants and dishes. Users can now browse more than 700,000 dishes and 6,000 hawkers, cafes and restaurants.
The food search engine is available in Singapore. It will be rolled out to Malaysia, the Philippines and Indonesia this quarter. Founded about a year ago, it was initially a mobile-only food-themed photo sharing app.
