SINGAPORE - If you like the flavour of rose in food - macarons say, or rose syrup in fizzy water - then get a jar of Greek brand Idiston's Rose Petal jam.
The fragrance from the petals, which form the main ingredient, permeates every spoonful.
It is a tad sweet, but that is balanced out with toast slathered with salted butter. The exotic flavour makes you think of faraway lands.
It can be put to other uses of course.
Add fizzy water to dilute the sugar and create a refreshing drink. It would also be great as an untraditional topping for scones.
