My point: Easy availability of M18 DVDs

FORUM

SINGAPORE - I was thrilled to find a vending machine in my neighbourhood that rents out DVDs at a low price of $1 a day.

However, the availability of M18-rated movies for rental makes me uncomfortable.

If children try to buy tickets for such movies at a cinema, or purchase the DVDs in a store, the staff would request proof of their age.

While an identity card is needed to rent a movie from the machine, I am concerned that children can do so without parental consent. Can the relevant authorities comment on this?
